Château des Chances
The Château des Chances is a ruined castle in the commune of Les Haies in the Rhône département of France, at the foot of the Pilat massif. All that remains today of the medieval castle is a collapsed tower and some stretches of wall. The oldest remnant is from a castle mentioned in a charter in April 970 (the Charte Savigny) naming a certain Rudolph, a son of the powerful Lavieu family, as owner of the castle.

Pilat Regional Natural Park
Pilat Regional Natural Park is a protected area of mountainous countryside in the Rhône-Alpes region of southeastern France. The park spans the departments of Loire and Rhône, and covers a total area of 65,000 hectares . The mountain terrain ranges from 140 metres to 1,432 metres in elevation. Forty-seven communes dot the landscape, with approximately fifty thousand residents. The land was officially designated a regional natural park in 1974.

Point was born in Louhans. A larger-than-life man in every way, he was his generation's master of la grande cuisine, simplifying the work of Escoffier. Point's protégés became masters of the Nouvelle cuisine of the 1960s and 1970s.
