Gulripsh

Gulripsh is an urban settlement in Abkhazia. It is located 12 km from the republic's capital, Sukhumi, and is the centre of Gulripsh raion. Nikolay Smetskoy built three sanatoria in Gulripsh between 1902 and 1913 for patients with pulmonary diseases and founded several parks with subtropical plants. , after the Russian Revolution the sanatoria were nationalised.

Kelasuri Wall

The Kelasuri Wall or Great Abkhazian Wall (Georgian: აფხაზეთის დიდი კედელი) is a stone wall located to the east of Sukhumi in Abkhazia. The time of its construction is not known definitely; several dates ranging from antiquity to the seventeenth century were suggested, although more recent works have provisionally favoured construction in the 6th century AD. The wall featured about 300 towers, most of them now entirely or largely ruined.

Abkhazian State University

The Abkhazian State University is the only university in Georgia's breakaway republic of Abkhazia. It was founded in 1979 on the basis of the Sukhumi Pedagogical Institute. Its first rector was Zurab Anchabadze. The university consists the departments of physics and mathematics, biology and geography, history, philology, economics, law; pedagogical and agro-engineering departments.

Besleti Bridge

The Besleti Bridge also known as the Queen Tamar Bridge is a medieval arched stone bridge at Sukhumi, Georgia’s breakaway republic of Abkhazia. Located some 6 km from the city centre, the bridge spans the small mountain River Besletka, and dates back to the late 12th century.
