Ikalto

Ikalto is a village about 10 km west of the town Telavi in the Kakheti region of Eastern Georgia. It is mostly known for its monastery complex and the Ikalto Academy. The Ikalto monastery was founded by Saint Zenon, one of the 13 Syrian Fathers, in the late 6th century. It was known as one of the most significant cultural-scholastic centres of Georgia.

Telavi

Telavi is the main city and administrative center of Georgia's eastern province of Kakheti. Its population consists of some 21,800 inhabitants (as of the year 2002). The city is located on foot-hills of Tsiv-Gombori Range at 500–800 meters above the sea level.

Matani

Matani is a village in the Kakheti region, Georgia. In the village is a 5th-century basilica, Tskhrakara (literally, the Nine Gates) and the ruins of an old palace of the Cholokashvili noble family. The village is also home to several traditional religious festivals throughout a year, particularly Didbatonoba (local celebration of St George's Day, November 23), Iakharoba (autumn), and Tsikhegoroba (local variant of Easter Tuesday holiday).

Pankisi Gorge

The Pankisi Gorge (Georgian: პანკისის ხეობა, Pankisis Kheoba) or Pankisi (პანკისი) is a valley region in Georgia, in the northeastern corner of the country, bordering the Chechnyan republic of the Russian Federation. Administratively, it is included in the Akhmeta district of the Kakheti region. An ethnic group called Kists of Chechen roots form the majority (75%) in the area.

Mutso

Mutso is a small village in Georgia. One of the former strongholds of the historic Georgian province of Khevsureti (now part of Mtskheta-Mtianeti region), it is located on a rocky mountain (1880 m) on the right bank of the Andakistskali river (ანდაქისწყალი).
