Wessenstedt

Wessenstedt is located in the Lüneburg Heath, is a quarter of Natendorf having about 150 inhabitants and belongs to Altes Amt Ebstorf of district Uelzen, Lower Saxony. Wessenstedt is known for the discovery of a nearby Urnfield. The pottery has been used as an archeological marker corresponding to the Iron Age period known otherwise as Hallstatt "C". However, unlike Hallstatt, this site is not considered Celtic and rather Germanic instead.

Kiehnmoor

The Kiehnmoor is a nature reserve in Germany. It was designated as a nature reserve in 1992. It has an area of 440 hectares of which 100 hectares lie in Celle district and 340 hectares in Uelzen district. The nature conservation authorities of these districts are responsible for the reserve. A large part of the area is wet meadow, that in places is intensively farmed. However the majority of the area has been left in its natural state. A small sand heath forms part of the reserve.

Uelzen station

The Uelzen station is a crossing station in Uelzen at the eastern edge of the Lüneburg Heath Nature Park in northeastern Lower Saxony. The original station was renovated for Expo 2000 following plans by the Austrian artist and architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. As an "environmentally culturally oriented" station, the Uelzen station is now marketed as the Hundertwasser-Bahnhof Uelzen (Hundertwasser Station, Uelzen). Today it is one of the town's popular tourist attractions.

Lopausee

The Lopausee is a man-made lake east of the village of Amelinghausen in the Lüneburg Heath in North Germany. The lake, which has an area of about 12 hectares, has been created by impounding the River Lopau with a dam. The dam lies parallel to the road embankent of the B209 federal road that runs past the lake. The Lopausee is used exclusively as a nature reserve and for recreation. The water quality is rated as good and fishing and swimming are permitted.
