Apensen is a railway station, located in the municipality Apensen, Lower Saxony, in northwestern Germany. It is owned and operated by EVB, with regular trains on the line between Bremerhaven and Buxtehude. As of 2009, the station was included in the fare zone of the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund.

Litberg

The Litberg is, at 65 metres above sea level (NN), the highest point in the district of Stade. It lies about 2.5 kilometres south of Beckdorf in the municipality of Sauensiek. The Litberg is small hill covered with birch, pine, willow and alder, which was formed from an Ice Age moraine. It forms a protected area on the geest west of the Harburg Hills.

3rd Panzer Division (Bundeswehr)

The 3rd Armoured Division was formed on 2 July 1956 in Hamburg and was one of the first major formations of the new German Army or Bundeswehr after the Second World War. The 3rd Armoured Division was stationed on the North German Plain between the rivers Elbe and Weser. Its last headquarters location was Buxtehude. It was part of the I Corps alongside the 1st Panzer, 7th Panzer, and 11th Panzergrenadier Divisions. The 3rd Armoured Division was disbanded on 30 September 1994.
