Soltau Toy Museum

The Soltau Toy Museum, formerly the North German Toy Museum in Soltau originated from a private collection. It was founded in 1984 by Hannelore Ernst. The museum is located in a listed building which consists of a shop and house in the centre of Soltau. Exhibits from four centuries recall something of the history of toys and culture.

Brock (Soltau)

Brock is a village in the borough of Soltau in the Heidekreis district in the German state of Lower Saxony. The village has 158 inhabitants . The hamlets of Bassel, Hebenbrock, Penzhorn and Imbrock are part of the parish. Brock lies on the Lüneburg Heath south of Soltau on the river Böhme. Wense (Osterheide)

Wense is a village in the Heidmark in Lower Saxony, Germany. In 1935/1936 its inhabitants were 'relocated', because the German armed forces, the Wehrmacht, wanted to establish a vast military training area in the Heidmark, which today is the largest in Europe. Nowadays, Wense is in the unincorporated area of Osterheide.

Colossos (Heide Park)

Colossos is a wooden roller coaster at Heide Park in Soltau, Lower Saxony, Germany. It is the first wooden roller coaster to use prefabricated track. Colossos is currently the tallest wooden roller coaster in the world. Colossos is very different from a traditional wooden roller coaster because it is prefabricated. Instead of trackers cutting, shaping, and laying down the track by hand, the track is laser cut in a factory, achieving a higher degree of precision than could ever be done by hand.
