Battle of Lützen (1632)

The Battle of Lützen (1632) was one of the most decisive battles of the Thirty Years' War. It was a Protestant victory, but cost the life of one of the most important leaders of the Protestant alliance, Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden, which caused the Protestant campaign to lose direction.

Altranstädt

Altranstädt is a village in Saxony, Germany, now part of the Markranstädt district of Leipzig. The village is historically famous for two treaties that were concluded there, the Treaty of Altranstädt (1706) and the Treaty of Altranstädt (1707). The 1706 treaty was a peace which Augustus II, king of Poland and elector of Saxony, was forced to ratify on 24 September 1706, with Charles XII of Sweden.
