The Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Chalkida is a higher-educational institute supervised by the Minister of Education, Lifelong Learning and Religious Affairs. Euripus Strait

The Euripus Strait, is a narrow channel of water separating the Greek island of Euboea in the Aegean Sea from Boeotia in mainland Greece. The strait's principal port is Chalcis on Euboea, located at the strait's narrowest point. The strait is subject to strong tidal currents which reverse direction approximately four times a day. Tidal flows are very weak in the Eastern Mediterranean, and the strait is a remarkable exception.

Lefkandi

Lefkandi is a coastal village on the island of Euboea. Archaeological finds attest to a settlement on the promontory locally known as Xeropolis, while several associated cemeteries have been identified nearby. The settlement site is located on a promontory overlooking the Euripos, with small bays forming natural harbours east and west of the site.

Gulf of Euboea

The Gulf of Euboea, Euboean Gulf, Euboic Sea or Euboic Gulf is an arm of the Aegean Sea between the island of Euboea (northeast coastline) and the Greek mainland (southwest coastline). Trending diagonally northwest-southeast, the gulf is divided by the narrow Strait of Euripus, at the town of Chalcis (Khalkís). The North Euboean Gulf is about 50 miles (80 km) long and up to 15 miles (24 km) wide, and the South Euboean Gulf is about 30 miles (48 km) long, with a maximum width of 9 miles (14 km).

Aulis (ancient Greece)

Ancient Aulis was a Greek port-town, located in Boeotia in central Greece, at the Euripus Strait, opposite of the island of Euboea. It is identified with the modern Avlida. Aulis never developed into fully independent polis, but belonged to Thebes (378 BC) and Tanagra respectively. According to legend the Greek fleet gathered in Aulis to set off for Troy.
