Lake Koroneia

Lake Koroneia is a lake in the heart of the Thessaloniki regional unit in the Mygdonian basin in Greece. The lake is also known as Agios Vasileios after an homonymous village and as Lake Langada. It is located about 12 kilometres east of downtown Thessaloniki. The motorway Egnatia Odos passes along the north side of the lake, and the old Greek National Road 2 passes along the south side. The municipalities with shores on the lake are Koroneia, Langadas, and Egnatia.

Karipeion Melathron

Karipeio Melathro is an Ottoman-period historical building in the center of Thessaloniki, Greece. It is located in the crossroad of Olympiados and F. Dragoumi streets. Its architect is the Italian Vitaliano Pozzeli. Karipio was the official residence of the then Selanik Prefect, who was the political representative of the Ottoman Empire in Macedonia. After Thessaloniki became part of Greece in 1912, the building became a property of the Greek State.

Hagios Demetrios

The Church of Saint Demetrius, or Hagios Demetrios, is the main sanctuary dedicated to Saint Demetrius, the patron saint of Thessaloniki, dating from a time when it was the second largest city of the Byzantine Empire. It is part of the site Palaeochristian and Byzantine Monuments of Thessaloniki on the list of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO since 1988.
