Arnaia Province

Arnaia Province was one of the provinces of the Chalkidiki Prefecture, Greece. Its territory corresponded with that of the current municipality Aristotelis. It was abolished in 2006.

Acanthus (Athos)

Ierissos or Acanthus was an ancient Greek city on the Athos peninsula. It was located on the north-east side of Akti, on the most eastern peninsula of Chalcidice. Strabo and Ptolemy erroneously place Acanthus on the Singitic Gulf, but there can be no doubt that the town was on the Strymonian Gulf, as is stated by Herodotus and other authorities: the error may have perhaps arisen from the territory of Acanthus having stretched as far as the Singitic Gulf.

Diaporos Island is an island of about one and a half square miles in the Singitic Gulf, Chalkidiki, northern Greece. In 1950 it had no inhabitants.

Stagira

Stagira (Greek: Στάγειρα or Στάγιρα, also fem. Stagiros Στάγιρος or Stageiros Στάγειρος) is a Greek village lying on a picturesque plateau on the Chalcidice peninsula, and standing at the foot of the Argirolofos hill. The village stands approximately 8 kilometers south southwest of the ancient Stageira, the birthplace of Aristotle, and a statue of him stands in it. In Byzantine times, Stagira was called Siderokafsia.
