Nea Peramos, Kavala

Nea Peramos, is a town located 17 kilometres from Kavala, the capital of the regional unit of Kavala, Greece. Its population as of the 2001 census is 2,468. Since 1998, according the Law of Kapodistrias, seven villages joined in a new municipality which was called Municipality of Eleftheres. The central administration authority resided in Nea Peramos, which is the largest of the villages listed above. The first Mayor of the Community of Eleftheres was Iraklis Karaberidis.

Karantere (Greek: Καράντερε or Καρά Ντερέ, Bulgarian: Кара дере) is a mostly forested area located in the central and northern parts of the Drama regional unit in Greek Macedonia that extends along the Greek-Βulgarian border. Karantere is 90% covered by the forest of Elatia and contains the forest village of Elatia. The Forest of Elatia and Karantere are sometimes used interchangeably when describing the area.
