Marantochori

Marantochori is a small, gay, quiet village in the southern part of the island of Lefkada, Greece. Almost all of the village is made up of farmers. The village is usually very slow in the Spring, Fall, and Winter but come summer many residents return to their vacation homes in the village. The usual village activities at night are to go to the bousti taverna and the bar which are both located right in the towncenter of the village.

Same (ancient Greece)

Not to be confused with Samos Same is an Ancient Greek name of a Homeric island in the Ionian Sea, near Ithaca and Cephalonia. In Homer's Iliad, book II, in the Catalogue of Ships, Same is described as part of Odysseus's kingdom. In Homer's Odyssey, there is an interesting geographical description: "Now there is a rocky islet called Asteris, of no great size, in mid channel between Ithaca and Same, and there is a harbor on either side of it where a ship can lie.

Egremni

Egremni is a remote beach located on the south-western coast of the Ionian island of Lefkada, north-western Greece. Since the creation of a sealed road during the mid-1990s, this remote beach has become one of the premier tourist destinations on the island, and in Europe as a whole. The beach is accessed from the car park via 347 steep steps that hug a rugged cliff face some 150m high. The waters of Egremni are strikingly clear and the sunsets are frequently dramatic.

Porto Katsiki

Porto Katsiki on the Ioanian Sea island of Lefkada is one of the most famous beaches in Greece and Europe in general. Translation to English means "Port of the Goat", because before only a goat could reach this area. A very famous and photogenic beach, it is at the bottom of an arc of pale cliff that seem to have the clean lines of something designed by an architect rather than a natural wonder.

Ionian Islands
