Koronos

Koronos is one of the mountain villages on the Greek island of Naxos in the Cyclades group of islands. Situated in the northeast part of the island, Koronos lies on the northeast slopes of the Koronion Oros, the second tallest mountain on the island and has the second highest altitude of the villages at 630 meters above sea level. Along with Apiranthos (T'aperathou) and Keramoti, Koronos belongs to the Smiridohoria or the emery-producing villages of Naxos.

Keramoti, Naxos

Keramoti is a village in the northeastern part of the island of Naxos in the Cyclades, Greece. Keramoti is part of the municipality of Drymalia. It is linked with a main road that connects the northern part of the island and the town of Naxos. Keramoti is situated in a mountainous area. Keramoti are mainly grasslands and dry rocks and a few trees around the area. Keramoti is located NE of Naxos and 14 km northeast of Chalkio.

Apeiranthos

Apeiranthos or Aperathos is a mountainous village in the island of Naxos. It is located 28 km north-east of the capital of the island, built on the foothill of mountain Fanari, on an altitude between 550 and 650 m. It is a village with a very rich history and folkloric tradition. The similarities of the local dialect and traditions to the mountainous Crete villages has led some historians to the conclusion that Apeiranthos was built by Cretans during the 10th century.

Mesi, Naxos

Mesi is a mountain village on the island Naxos, Greece. It is part of the municipal unit Drymalia. Its name is probably due to its location in the middle between Komiaki and the northeastern coast of Naxos. In ancient times Mesi depended on the community of Skado. In 1955 it had roughly 180 residents. At the 2001 census it numbered 116 residents.

Moutsouna

Moutsouna is a small seaside village on the eastern coast of the island of Naxos, Greece. It is located approximately 39 km from the capital of the island, and 11 km from the village of Apiranthos. Historically, Moutsouna has been the port from which the industrial mineral of emery used to be loaded in boats and exported. In recent years, Moutsouna has developed mostly as a summer tourist resort.
