Makelaria Monastery

The Makelaria Monastery (Greek: Ιερά Μονή Κοιμήσεως Θεοτόκου Μακελαριάς) is a 6th-century Eastern Orthodox monastery located in the Peloponnese, Greece. It lies on a big rock near the villages of Lapanagoi, at a distance of 30 Km from the town of Kalavryta. The monastery, one of the oldest in Greece, was founded in 532 AD and is dedicated to the Dormition of the Theotokos

Helike

Helike was an ancient Greek city that disappeared at night in the winter of 373 BC. It was located in Achaea, northern Peloponnesos, two kilometres from the Corinthian Gulf and near the city of Boura, which, like Helike, was a member of the Achaean League. The city was thought to be legend until 2001, when it was rediscovered in the Helike delta. Modern research attributes the catastrophe to an earthquake and accompanying tsunami which destroyed and submerged the city.

Archaeological Museum of Aigion

The Archaeological Museum of Aigion is a museum in Aigion, Greece opened on August 6, 1994. The building of the museum which originally housed the municipal market of Aigio is a work of the famous architect Ernst Ziller and it was built in 1890. In the museum there are six rooms covering findings from the Neolithic period to the late Roman.
