Port Mourant

Port Mourant is a village located in region six, East Berbice-Corentyne, in Guyana. This agriculturally sustained village is famous for producing one of the country's most influential political figures, Dr. Cheddi Jagan. Jagan and many of his contemporaries from Port Mourant who later excelled, were fortunate to attend the first and very successful secondary schools established in the village by the academic Pandit RN Persaud.

Tain Hindu Mandir

The Tain Hindu Mandir is a Hindu temple located in Tain Settlement, a rural community in Port Mourant Corentyne Berbice in Guyana, South America. It is affiliated with the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha; however, its genesis was inspired by the Guyana Sevasharam Sangh Cove and John, East Coast Demerara. On Sunday evenings during the 1960s, 1970s, and the latter part of the 1980s, the Tain Hindu Mandir used to conduct Hawan services followed by bhagan singing.

Berbice High School

Berbice High School is a school in New Amsterdam, Guyana. The Boys' School was established on 5 September 1916, on the ground floor of the residence occupied by Rev. J. A. Scrimgeour, BA. Mr. C. A. Pugsley was the school's first Headmaster. Nine pupils were enrolled on the founding day.

Crab Island, Guyana

Crab Island is an island located in the mouth of the Berbice River in Guyana, located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:6.283|-57.517||||||| | |name= }}. Crab Island is so named due to the presence of numerous crabs there, and is approximately one mile in circumference. Before the British took over Berbice in 1815, the Dutch had a fort here called St. Andries.
