Sutahata (Vidhan Sabha constituency)

Sutahata (Vidhan Sabha constituency) (Bengali: সুতাহাটা বিধানসভা কেন্দ্র) was an assembly constituency in Purba Medinipur district in the Indian state of West Bengal. As a consequence of the orders of the Delimitation Commission, Sutahata (Vidhan Sabha constituency) ceases to exist from 2011. It was part of Tamluk (Lok Sabha constituency).

Sutahata (community development block)

Sutahata (community development block) is an administrative division in Haldia subdivision of Purba Medinipur district in the Indian state of West Bengal. In earlier days this block was referred to as Sutahata I block, and Haldia block was referred to as Sutahata II block. Sutahata and Durgachak police stations serve this block. Headquarters of this block is at Sutahata.

Baneswar

Baneswar is a small town in Cooch Behar district of West Bengal, India. Baneswar is famous for its shiva temple. Baneswar is also known for its tortoises (locally known as 'Mohan') which live in 'shiv pukur' near the temple. The word 'Baneswar' came from Ban+eeswar. Ban was a 'king of Asur'. He carried out 'Shiva linga', wished to bring eeswar(Lord Shiva) to 'Patal'. But he failed. The 'Shiva linga' fixed at where the temple could see today.
