Battle of Panipat (1761)

The Third Battle of Panipat took place on 14 January 1761, at Panipat, about 60 miles (95.5 km) north of Delhi between a northern expeditionary force of the Maratha Empire and a coalition of the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Durrani with two Indian Muslim allies—the Rohilla Afghans of the Doab, and Shuja-ud-Daula, the Nawab of Awadh.

Panipat

Panipat  pronunciation بَنِبَت is an ancient and historic city in Panipat district, Haryana state, India. It is 90 km north from Delhi and 169 km south of Chandigarh on NH-1. The three battles fought at the city were turning points in Indian history. The city is famous in India by the name of "City of Weaver". The first verse of the Bhagavad Gita is possibly referencing to Panipat as 'Dharmakshetra'

Karnal

Karnal  pronunciation is a city and the headquarters of Karnal District in the Indian state of Haryana. It was also known as Karnaal, Kurnaul or Karnaul during the British Raj. Karnal is governed by a municipal corporation that comes under the Karnal Metropolitan Region. Karnal was once the site of a cantonment of the British East Indian Company army established in the year 1805 A.D. but later abandoned due to a malaria outbreak.

Baraut

Baraut is a city and a small municipal board in Baghpat district, Uttar Pradesh, India. Previously, it was under Meerut district which was bifurcated into Meerut and Baghpat districts. At present it is an education hub for the villages around Baraut. In the present state assembly election it become a new assembly seat due to delimitation. The town is mostly inhabited by traders and farmers. Most of the population consists of Jats" Muslims, Jains, with a minority of Sikhs and Christians.
