Maharana Pratap Sagar

Maharana Pratap Sagar, in India, also known as Pong Reservoir or Pong Dam Lake was created in 1975, by building the highest earthfill dam in India on the Beas River in the wetland zone of the Siwalik Hills of the Kangra district of the state of Himachal Pradesh. Named in the honour of the patriot Maharana Pratap (1572–1597), the reservoir or the lake is a well-known wildlife sanctuary and one of the 25 international wetland sites declared in India by the Ramsar Convention.

Dhami

Dhami was a Princely State situated 26 kilometres west of Shimla, India. Its capital was Halog and the state formed a part of the region known as the Punjab Hill States Agency during the British Raj period. In 1941 it had an area of 73 square kilometres and a population of 5,114 people. In 1948 Dhami was made a part of Himachal Pradesh. The ruling family were Rajputs and descendants of Prithviraj Chauhan.

Dharamsala

Dharamshala or Dharamsala is a city and a municipal council in Kangra district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is the headquarters of the district. It was formerly known as Bhagsu. The Dalai Lama's residence and the headquarters of Central Tibetan Administration and the exiled Tibetan government are situated at McLeodGanj, a village within the Dharamshala municipality.

Haripur Guler

Haripur is a township in Kangra district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Haripur Guler are twin townships carrying the heritage of Guler Riyasat. A river separates the two towns which further makes Pong wetland, a Ramsar Wetalnd Site, home to a large number of migratory birds in winters because of marshes and the presence of irrigated private land.
