Achanakmar Wildlife Sanctuary
Achanakmar Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife park in Chhattisgarh, India. The sanctuary houses a number of endangered animal species, including leopards, Bengal tigers, and wild bison. The Achanakmar wildlife sanctuary was established in 1975, under provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972. Achanakmar has been declared a Tiger Reserve under the Project Tiger in 2009.

The Maikal Hills are an eastern part of the Satpuras in Kawardha District of Chattisgarh, overlooking the scenic town of Kawardha. they have an altitude ranging from 340 m to 941 m above sea level. It is a picturesque spot in the state with its serene and peaceful atmosphere. This densely forested and thinly populated range gives rise to several streams and rivers including the tributaries of Narmada and Wainganga rivers.
