R.V.S College of Engineering and Technology

R.V. S College of Engineering and Technology (or RVSCET) is an engineering institution which is situated in Karaikal which is a major port city of east coast of India and a municipality in Karaikal district in the Union Territory of Puducherry, India. The college is managed by the Rathinavel Subramaniam Educational Trust (RVSET). The college was started in 2008. The college is affiliated to the Pondicherry University for academic purposes.

Siege of Negapatam

The Siege of Negapatam was the first major offensive military action on the Indian subcontinent following the arrival of news that war had been declared between Great Britain and the Dutch Republic, beginning the Fourth Anglo-Dutch War, an offshoot of the American War of Independence. A British force besieged the Dutch-controlled port of Negapatam, the capital of Dutch Coromandel, on the eastern coast of India, which capitulated after the fortification's walls were breached.
