Anjukottai

Anjukottai is a historic village in northern Ramnad district, Tamil Nadu, India, 4 kilometres from Thiruvadani; and 16 kilometres from Thondi. It includes 7 small villages: Vaniyenthal, Melavayal, Pottakottai, Manathadal, Karaiyakottai, Chinna Anjukottai and Periya Anjukottai. Hindus (the majority), Muslims and Christians live there. Most of the Muslims migrated elsewhere. This village has one Mosque, six churches and more than 15 temples with different idols.

Thondi

Thondi is a panchayat town in Ramanathapuram district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is an ancient port site referred in the name of Tyndis. Syed Mohamed donated land for education which became Syed Mohamed Government Honors Secondary School to give the Tamil Nadu government for student education. Its to the Islamic Jamath operate in Thondi. Alagappa Evening College is run to the Islamic model school. Many other students use the education field.

Erwadi fire incident

Erwadi fire incident is an accident that occurred on 6 August 2001, when 28 inmates of a faith-based mental asylum died in fire. All these inmates were bound by chains at Moideen Badusha Mental Home in Erwadi Village in Tamil Nadu. Large number of mental homes existed in Erwadi which was famous for the dargah of Quthbus Sultan Syed Ibrahim Shaheed Valiyullah, from Medina, Saudi Arabia who came to India to propagate Islam.
