Vikramasingapuram

Vickramasingapuram or V.K. Puram is a 3rd Grade Municipal town in Tirunelveli District in the Indian state of Tamilnadu. It falls under the Ambasamudram Taluk. It is situated on the banks of river Thaamirabarani, 46 km from Tirunelveli, the capital of the District. This place is at the southernmost end of the Western Ghats which is called as "Podhigai Hill". Various religions' and castes' people are residing peacefully here.

Pothigai

The Pothigai Malai (hills) (also known as the Agasthiyar Malai) is in the Ashambu hills, part of the Anamalai Hills in the southern part of the Western Ghats of Southern India. Legend says that Sage Agastya (also written as Agasthiyar or Agathiyar) is said to have provided the grammar for Tamil language. This grammar was further fine tuned by one of his disciples Trinathak Muni popularly known as Tolkappiyar.

Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve

The Agasthyamalai Biosphere Reserve (ABR) was Established in 2001 and includes 3,500.36 km of which 1828 km² is in Kerala and 1672.36 km² is in Tamil Nadu. The Western Ghats, Agasthyamalai Sub-Cluster, including all of Agasthyamalai Biosphere Reserve, is under consideration by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee for selection as a World Heritage Site. Agasthyamala is located in this biosphere area.

Agasthyamalai Hills

The Agasthyamalai Hills also called the Ashambu Hills, lie at the extreme southern end of the Western Ghats mountain range along the western side of South India. There are at least 26 peaks over 1,600 metres among these hills. The hills are notable as the habitat for over 2,000 species of medicinal plants and as the abode of the Vedic sage Agasthya, founder of the Siddhar practitioners of Rasayana herbal medicine, who is often depicted holding a mortar and pestle.
