Lasikin Airport

Lasikin Airport is an airport in Sinabang, Simeulue island, Aceh, Indonesia. The airport was damaged by the 2004 tsunami and destroyed by the 2005 Sumatra earthquake. It was reopened on 1st November 2007 following 45 billion rupiah of spending by the Aceh-Nias recovery agency with control tower and enlarged runway facilitating larger turboprop aircraft. There are daily flights to Medan's Polonia Airport on Susi Air.

Sinabang

Sinabang (Indonesian Sinabung) is a city on the east coast of Simeulue Island, which lies off the western coast of Sumatra in Indonesia. Sinabang is the administrative seat (capital) of the Simeulue Regency, Aceh Province, Indonesia and has a population of approximately 20,000.

Simeulue island

Simeulue island is an island of Indonesia, 150 km off the west coast of Sumatra. Simeulue was once a part of West Aceh Regency but was split off in 1999 and became an independent Simeulue Regency. Simeulue was close to the epicenter of the 9.3 magnitude 26 December 2004 earthquake. On 28 March 2005 a 8.7 magnitude stuck with its epicenter just off the south end of Simeulue Island.
