1917 Bali earthquake

The 1917 Bali earthquake occurred at 06:50 local time on 21 January . It had an estimated magnitude of 6.6 on the surface wave magnitude scale and had a maximum perceived intensity of IX (Violent) on the Mercalli intensity scale. It caused widespread damage across Bali, particularly in the south of the island. It triggered many landslides, which caused 80% of the 1500 casualties.

Bratan

Eka Karya Botanic Garden or Bali Botanic Garden is a botanic garden in Bedugul, Bali, for botanical research, conservation, education and recreation. The Eka Karya Botanic Garden is situated at 1250-1450 m above sea level, with an area of 157.5 hectares (389 acres). Temperature is about 17 - 25°C in daytime and drops to 10 - 15°C at night with humidity 70-90%.

Pura Ulun Danu Bratan

Pura Ulun Danu Bratan, or Pura Bratan, is a major Shivaite and water temple on Bali, Indonesia — the other major water temple being Pura Ulun Danu Batur. The temple complex is located on the shores of Lake Bratan in the mountains near Bedugul. Water temples serve the entire region in the outflow area; downstream there are many smaller water temples that are specific to each irrigation association.

Marga, Tabanan

Marga is a district of Tabanan Regency, Bali, Indonesia. It is the location of the Battle of Marga, where Indonesian National Hero I Gusti Ngurah Rai was killed by Dutch forces during the Indonesian Revolution. This battle, in which 96 Indonesians were killed, has been characterized by Balinese writers as a Puputan, such as those of 1906-08.
