Kemusuk

Kemusuk is a village in the Argo Mulya area in the Sedayu subdistrict, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The village, around 10km to the west of Yogyakarta towards the town of Wates, is known as the birthplace of former president Suharto. Suharto was born to a 'poor but not unimportant farmer's family' in the village where his father, Kertosudiro, was a village irrigation official in charge of overseeing the allocation of water to different farmers in the village .

Sleman

Sleman is a town in Sleman Regency, Indonesia. It is on the road between Yogyakarta and Magelang. It is in the regency that is home to Mount Merapi, which started its most recent eruption in late October and early November 2010, killing hundreds, including Maridjan, the spiritual keeper of the legendary spirits of the famous volcano, Indonesia's most active. It was also a stopping place on the railway that followed the same route.

Jalan Malioboro

Jalan Malioboro is a major shopping street in Yogyakarta, Indonesia; the name is also used more generally for the neighborhood around the street. It lies north-south axis in the line between Yogyakarta Kraton and Mount Merapi. This is in itself is significant to many of the local population, the north south orientation between the palace and the volcano being of importance. The street is the centre of Yogyakarta's largest tourist district surrounded with many hotels and restaurants nearby.

Kraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat

Kraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat is the primary kraton of the Yogyakarta Sultanate. The sultan and the royal court has its traditional seat there. The complex consists of a number of low-lying buildings such as audience halls, museums, and the residences of the sultan and the queen. It is a popular tourist destination.

Fort Vredeburg

Fort Vredeburg (also known as Museum Benteng) is a fortress built by the Dutch in Yogyakarta during Colonial times. It is located in front of Gedung Agung, one of seven presidential palaces in Indonesia and the Sultan Palace called Kraton. It was built in 1765 to protect the Dutch governor. It is surrounded by a trench that is still visible. This square-shaped fortress has a watchtower at each of its four corners. In the past, the Dutch troops patrolled frequently on its wall.
