Lembang

Lembang is a town in the province of West Java in Java, Indonesia. The population (2005) is 183,300. Lembang is situated between 1,312 and 2,084 above sea level. Its highest point is on top of Tangkuban Perahu Mt. The temperature usually ranges between 17 and 24 degrees Celsius. Lembang means "dent" in Indonesian.

Mount Tampomas

Mount Tampomas is a small andesitic stratovolcano in West Java, Indonesia. A young lava flows are found on the eastern flank of the volcano. The mountain was used as a source of construction rock to build the nearby Mrica Hydroelectric Dam project. Tampomas means "without gold: in Bahasa Indonesia. The mountain is locally known as Agro Gusti Kencanawati and a lady spirit resides there.

Bosscha Observatory

Bosscha Observatory is the oldest observatory in Indonesia. The observatory is located in Lembang, West Java, approximately 15 kilometers north of Bandung. It is situated on a hilly six hectares of land and is 1,310 m above mean sea level plateau. The IAU observatory code for Bosscha is 299.

Sumedang

Sumedang is a town in West Java, Indonesia, approximately 35 km northeast of Bandung. The town is just south of the volcanic Mount Tampomas, which is 1,684 m (5,525 ft) high and is usually climbed from the subdistrict of Cimalaka, 7 km from Sumedang. Sumedang's museum, Prabu Geusan Ulun, houses a collection of traditional Sundanese weaponry, as well as some crown jewels and other finery. It is located on Geusan Ulun Road.
