Doroodzan Dam

Doroodzan Dam is a dam in Iran, about 85 kilometers north of Shiraz. The earthen dam is situated in Fars Province. Completed in 1974 and built primarily for irrigation water storage, for flood control, and municipal water storage, the facility is also a hydroelectric dam with an installed electricity generating capability of 10 MWh.

Elam

Elam was an ancient civilization centered in the far west and southwest of modern-day Iran, stretching from the lowlands of what is now Khuzestan and Ilam Province, as well as a small part of southern Iraq. The modern name Elam is a transcription from Biblical Hebrew, corresponding to the Sumerian elam(a), the Akkadian elamtu, and the Elamite haltamti. Elamite states were among the leading political forces of the ancient near east.
