Tureng Tepe

Tureng Tepe ("Hill of the Pheasants") (alternatively spelled in English as Turang Tappe/Tape/Tappa/Tappeh) is an archaeological site in northeastern Iran, in the Gorgan plain, approximately 17 km northeast of the town of Gorgan. The oldest remains on the site date to the Neolithic and Chalcolithic periods. The Bronze Age settlement portion of the site dates from approximately 3100-2900 BC through 1900 BC.

Behkadeh Raji

Behkadeh Raji is the first leper colony, which was built as an economically self-sufficient, independent village. It was built in 1961 on initiative of Farah Pahlavi in Iran. The aim of the village concept was to not only achieve optimal care of lepers by the coexistence of healthy and diseased but also information and dialog with the public about leprosy sufferers. This is the same Colony that Forough Farrokhzads film Khaneh siah ast is about.
