Ahvaz County

Ahvaz County is a county in Khuzestan Province in Iran. The capital of the county is Ahvaz. At the 2006 census, the county's population (including those portions that were later split off to form Bavi County) was 1,317,377, in 274,296 families; excluding those portions, the population was 1,235,712, in 259,873 families. Takhti Stadium (Ahvaz)

The Takhti Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Ahvaz, Iran. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium is able to hold 30,000 people. As of October 2007, only Esteghlal Ahvaz F.C. are allowed to use the Takhti Stadium. Foolad and Shahin Ahvaz have been asked to look for new home stadiums. The stadium is set to be rebuilt in 2013 after the opening of Ghadir Stadium.
