Galway Races

The Galway Races is an Irish horse-racing festival that starts on the last Monday of July every year. Held at Ballybrit Racecourse in Galway, Ireland over seven days, it is the longest of all the race meets that occur in Ireland. The busiest days of the festival are Wednesday, when the Galway Plate is held, and Thursday, when the Galway Hurdle and Ladies' Day take place.

Renmore, Galway

Renmore (An Rinn Mhór, meaning "Big Point") is a suburb of Galway City, Ireland, situated approximately 2 km to the east of the city. St Oliver Plunkett Church is located beside the primary school. Lough Atalia lies between Renmore and the city, which can be crossed using the public path beside the railway line (widely known as 'the line'). The primary school in Renmore is widely called Scoil Chaitriona the area also has an all Irish school named Gaelscoil Dara.

Bohermore

Bohermore is located in the area of Galway city, Ireland. The name is derived form the Irish literally meaning "the big road". There is a large cemetery located in Bohermore known as the 'new cemetery'. The cemetery contains two mortuary chapels, one Catholic and the other Protestant. People buried there include Lord Haw Haw William Joyce who was a main German broadcaster in English during World War II.

Galway Sportsgrounds

Galway Sportsground, also known as The Sportsground, is a multi-purpose stadium in Galway, Ireland. It opened in 1927, with the playing of a soccer match and has been used to host Conancht Rugby matches since that time. It is currently used on a day to day basis mainly as the base for Connacht Rugby for training and hosting matches at all levels, in addition there are usually two regular Greyhound meetings per week also on Friday & Saturday evenings (and Thursday evenings when required).

Eamonn Deacy Park

Eamonn Deacy Park (formerly Terryland Park) is a multi-purpose stadium in Galway, Ireland. Owned by the Galway & District Football League, it is currently used for association football matches. It has been the home ground of Galway United since 1977.
