Taghmaconnell

Taghmaconnell or Taughmaconnell (Irish: Teach Mhic Conaill, meaning "MacConaill's house") is a small village in County Roscommon, Ireland. It lies between Athlone and Ballinasloe. It is also the name of the parish in which the village lies. The majority of people work on the land at a mixture of cattle and sheep. Ballinasloe is approx. 5 miles and Athlone is approx 6 miles. St Ronan's well lies in the middle of the parish and hosts an annual mass.

Ballinasloe GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association gaelic football and hurling club located in Ballinasloe, County Galway, Ireland. It was formed on 1 December 2005 as the result of a merger of St Grellan's GFC and Ballinasloe Hurling Club.

Grand Canal (Ireland)

The Grand Canal (Irish: An Chanáil Mhór) is the southernmost of a pair of canals that connect Dublin, in the east of Ireland, with the River Shannon in the west, via Tullamore and a number of other villages and towns, the two canals nearly encircling Dublin's inner city. Its sister canal on the Northside of Dublin is the Royal Canal. The last working cargo barge passed through the Grand Canal in 1960.
