Inishturk

Inishturk (Inis Toirc in Irish, meaning Wild Boar Island) is an inhabited island off the coast of County Mayo in Ireland. It has a permanent population of about seventy people. There are two main settlements, both on the more sheltered eastern end of the island, Ballyheer and Garranty. Bellavaun and Craggy are abandoned settlements. There is a regular ferry from Roonagh pier near Louisburgh. Some inhabitants are descended from evacuees from Inishark to the southwest.

Caher Island

Caher Island (Cathair na Naomh in Irish), an uninhabited island off the coast of County Mayo in Ireland, is situated between the larger Clare Island and Inishturk. An ancient centre for pilgrimage, it is still visited for this reason today. On 15 August each year, the Feast of the Assumption, there is a pilgrimage to the island. Its name in Irish means the City of the Saints. The island is accessed by boat from Inishturk.

Inishbofin, County Galway
