Cavan Gaels is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from County Cavan in Ireland. They are affiliated to Cavan GAA. Cavan Gaels have appeared in nine of the last ten Cavan Senior Football Championship finals. They are the current title holders after beating Gowna 0-15 to 0-11 in the 2007 final at Breffni Park. Kilnaleck or Kilnalec (Irish: Cill na Leice, meaning "church of the flagstone") is a small village in County Cavan, Ireland on the R154 regional road. Kilnaleck was once the centre of a mining boom when in 1879 some local businessmen and a school headmaster decided to develop the coal that existed nearby. However, the coal was very deep and hard to extract and the mine was forced to close.
