Milford, County Cork

Milford (Irish: Áth an Mhuilinn) is a small village in County Cork, Ireland. It is in the townland of Kilbolane on regional road R515, close to the border with County Limerick. Milford has two pubs, one shop with post office, a local church, an ancient castle, a primary school, a creamery, a Garda station and a tennis court. It has scored very highly in the National Tidy Towns competition in recent years.

Kilbolane Castle

Kilbolane Castle is a historical fortification atop Kilbolane Hill, half a kilometre from the village of Milford, County Cork, Ireland. The castle was built in the 15th or 16th century but employed a 13th century Norman style with high walls joined by circular guard towers and surrounded by a moat, similar to Liscarroll and Ballincollig. The castle grounds were church property of the Bishop of Cloyne, from whom it was held, according to the Pipe Roll of Cloyne, in 1291.

Dromina GAA (Druimne CLG) is an Gaelic Athletic Association intermediate hurling club in Dromina, County Cork, Ireland. The club participates in competitions organized by Cork GAA county board and in Avondhu divisional championships. The club comes from the same parish as Newtownshandrum.

Feohanagh-Castlemahon (Irish: An Fheothanach - Caisleán Uí Mhathúna) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the parish of Mahoonagh, County Limerick, Ireland. It was founded in 1890. Coolyroe is the main centre for the GAA field, known as Quaid Park. Hurling is the main sport in Feohanagh-Castlemahon (Fheothanach - Caisleán Uí Mhathúna). For Hurling, Mahoonagh parish is represented by Feohanagh and Gaelic Football is represented by Castlemahon.

Meelin GAA

Meelin GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Meelin, Cork, Ireland which forms part of the parish of Rockchapel and Meelin. The club is affiliated to the Duhallow division of Cork GAA. The club has both a hurling and a Gaelic football teams. Up to recently the club did not have any Gaelic football team with the area represented in football by Knockscovane GAA Club which took part in Duhallow division football competitions until its amalgamation with Meelin GAA club.
