Dunsink Observatory

The Dunsink Observatory is an astronomical observatory established in 1785 in the townland of Dunsink near the city of Dublin, Ireland. Its most famous director was William Rowan Hamilton, who, amongst other things, discovered quaternions, the first non-commutative algebra, while strolling from the observatory into the centre of the city with some friends and his wife. He is also renowned for his Hamiltonian formulation of dynamics.

Saint Brigid's GAA

Saint Brigid's GAA Club is based in Castleknock, Fingal, Ireland and serves communities in Castleknock, Clonsilla, Blanchardstown and Corduff. Its main grounds are at Russell Park but it also has grounds at Beech Park (Castleknock), Porterstown (Coolmine) and Islandbridge. At present the club caters for 70 teams at all age levels from nursery under 9 to Adult in hurling, football, camogie, ladies football, handball and badminton.

Little Ratra

Little Ratra, sometimes called Ratra House, is one of the minor state residences located in Dublin's Phoenix Park. Until recently it was used as the Civil Defence School. The building, which was built circa 1876 and originally known as the Little Lodge, was the official residence of the Private Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, who lived out of season in the next door Viceregal Lodge.

Broom Bridge

Broom Bridge, also known as Brougham Bridge, is a bridge along Broombridge Road which crosses the Royal Canal in Cabra, Dublin, Ireland. Broom Bridge is named after William Brougham, one of the directors of the Royal Canal company. It is somewhat famous for being the location where Sir William Rowan Hamilton first wrote down the fundamental formula for quaternions on October 16, 1843, which is to this day commemorated by a on the northwest corner of the underside of the bridge.
