Spancill Hill, County Clare

Spancillhill is a small settlement in East County Clare, about 5 km east of Ennis, on the regional road (R352) to Tulla. It borders Clooney and Quin village to the south and Barefield to the north. The area holds host to the Spancilhill Horse Fair, Ireland's oldest horse fair, which occurs annually on 23 June.

Crusheen

Crusheen is a small village located on the R458 road to Gort. It is 10 kilometers northeast of Ennis in County Clare, Ireland. The village consists of a church, Garda station, two public houses, post office, a supermarket, petrol station, funeral home and a pharmacy. There is also a primary school and a community centre. The local GAA club is Crusheen GAA. The main RTÉ Television and Radio Transmitter at Maghera mountain is located eastnortheast of the village.

Crusheen railway station

Crusheen railway station is a currently closed railway station in the village of Crusheen, County Clare. Planning permission was granted to Iarnrod Eireann for the construction of a new station in 2011 The original station built in the 1860s closed for passenger traffic in 1976 and freight traffic in the 1990s

Quin Abbey

Quin Abbey, in Quin, County Clare, Ireland, was built between 1402 and 1433 by Sioda Cam MacNamara, for Fathers Purcell and Mooney, friars of the Franciscan order. Although mostly roofless, the structure of the abbey is relatively well preserved. There is an intact cloister, and many other surviving architectural features make the abbey of significant historical value. A far earlier monastery had existed on the site, which burned down in 1278.
