Glenlara GAA Club was founded in 1939 by D.A. Daly, P. Shine and R O'Keeffe. It took great courage on the part of those men to start a Club at the time, overshadowed as Glenlara area was by clubs such as Newmarket, Boherbue and Kiskeam.
