Battle of Beersheba (1917)

The Battle of Beersheba (Turkish: Birüssebi Savaşı, also known as the Third Battle of Gaza) was fought on 31 October 1917, when two corps of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force (EEF) attacked units of the Yildirim Army Group guarding Beersheba, beginning an offensive which six weeks later resulted in the capture of Jerusalem, during the Sinai and Palestine campaign of World War I.

Nahal Beka

Nahal Beka (lit. Valley Stream) is a neighborhood in Beersheba, Israel. It is its southernmost neighborhood. In the 1990s, Nahal Beka had a large Russian immigrant population living in caravans and trailer homes. Since then, wealthier members of the Russian Jewish population have moved there and pushed for better services. Sports facilities have been built, and members of the community established the Center of Caucasian Immigrants.

Be'er Sheva (Teyman) Airport

Be'er Sheva Airport, also known as the Teyman Airport is an Israeli airport located near Beersheba. The airport is mainly used for teaching flying, private aviation activity, a gliding club and SkyKef SkyDiving Center. The main operator of the airport is Ayit Aviation, owned by Captain Eli Peretz, who has managed the airport for the last 25 years.
