Litoranea Veneta

The Litoranea Veneta is a network of some 600 km of canals and navigable stretches of river in the Veneto region of north-east Italy. Until the mid-twentieth century and the reclamation of the extensive areas of marshland around the lower courses of the rivers Po, Adige, Brenta, Sile, Piave, Livenza and Tagliamento, these waterways were of great importance in providing for the transportation of goods and people between the Adriatic coast and the Po plain.

Duino

Duino is a town at the Adriatic coast in the municipality of Duino-Aurisina, part of the region of Friuli–Venezia Giulia in the province of Trieste, northeastern Italy. The total population is recorded as 8,753 (4,281 males and 4,472 females in 3,753 families), the population density (per square kilometre) as 193.8, and number of housing units as 3,983.

Duino Castle

Duino Castle (also known as Castello di Duino or Castel Duino) is a fourteenth century fortification located in Duino, near Trieste, Italy on the cliffs overlooking the Gulf of Trieste. Building commenced in 1389 at the order of the Wallsee family. The ruins of an older castle built in the eleventh century by the Patriarch of Aquileia are located on the grounds.

Timavo

The Timavo River, known in Slovene as the Timava or Timav, is a 2-km river in the Province of Trieste. It has four sources near San Giovanni near Duino and outflows in the Gulf of Panzano (part of the Gulf of Trieste) three kilometers southeast of Monfalcone, Italy. The river has a karst character. It receives much of its water through subterranean flow from the Reka River, but tracer studies have shown that other sinking rivers, Vipava, Soča, and Raša also contribute.

Monfalcone railway station

Monfalcone railway station (Italian: Stazione di Monfalcone) serves the town and comune of Monfalcone, in the autonomous region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, northeastern Italy. Opened in 1860, the station is a junction between the Venice–Trieste railway and the Udine–Trieste railway. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni.
