Ausa (Udine)

The Ausa or Aussa is a river in the Italian province of Udine. Its source is near the city of Udine. The river flows south past Palmanova, Aiello del Friuli, Cervignano del Friuli and Terzo d'Aquileia before emptying into the Laguna di Marano between Marano Lagunare and Aquileia.

Cormor

The Cormor is an Italian river in the Province of Udine. The source of the river is west of Fagagna and east of Spilimbergo. The river initially flows south but then curves east and flows past Martignacco. The river then flows south past Udine until it empties into the Laguna di Marano in the Adriatic Sea.

Barbana, Italy

Barbana is a small island located at the northern end of the Grado Lagoon, near Trieste in north-east Italy. It is the site of the Santuario di Barbana, an ancient Marian sanctuary whose origins date back to 582 when Elia, Patriarch of Aquileia, built a church near the hut of a hermit from Treviso named Barbanus. The island, which can be easily reached by ferry from nearby Grado, is populated by a small community of Franciscan monks.

Tagliamento

The Tagliamento is a braided river in north-east Italy, flowing from the Alps to the Adriatic Sea at a point between Trieste and Venice. The source is in the Mauria Pass, on the border between the regions of Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. In the upper section, it flows through the historic Carnia region, in the northern part of the province of Udine.
