Vittoriale degli italiani

The Vittoriale degli italiani is a hillside estate in the town of Gardone Riviera overlooking the Garda lake in Lombardy, Italy. It is where the Italian writer Gabriele d'Annunzio lived after his defenestration in 1922 until his death in 1938. The estate consists of the residence of d'Annunzio called the Prioria (priory), an amphitheatre, the light cruiser Puglia set into a hillside, a boathouse containing the MAS vessel used by D'Annunzio in 1918 and a circular mausoleum.

Orto Botanico "G.E. Ghirardi"

The Orto Botanico "G.E. Ghirardi" (about 10,000 m²), also known as the Giardino Botanico sperimentale "E. Ghirardi" and the Orto botanico di Toscolano Maderno, is a botanical garden operated by the University of Milan, and located on Via Religione, Toscolano-Maderno on the western shore of Lake Garda, Province of Brescia, Lombardy, Italy. The garden was established in 1964 as the Stazione Agricola Sperimentale Mimosa under the direction of Professor Giordano Emilio Ghirardi.

Isola del Garda

Isola del Garda or Isola di Garda or Isola Borghese is the biggest island on Lake Garda. It is part of the comune of San Felice del Benaco. It was inhabited since the Roman period. Today the island is owned and inhabited by the Borghese-Cavazza family. An historical Venetian neogothic manor, surrounded by Italian and English-style gardens, was built at the beginning of the 20th century.

Lake Garda

Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy. It is a popular holiday location and is located in Northern Italy, about half-way between Brescia and Verona, and between Venice and Milan. Glaciers formed this alpine region at the end of the last Ice Age. The lake and its shoreline are divided between the provinces of Verona (to the south-east), Brescia (south-west), and Trentino (north).
