Iselle di Trasquera railway station (Italian: Stazione di Iselle di Trasquera) serves the village of Iselle and comune of Trasquera, in the region of Piedmont, northwestern Italy. Opened in 1906, the station is at the southern portal of the Simplon tunnel, on the Brig–Domodossola railway, between Brig, Switzerland and Domodossola, Italy. It is also the border station between Italy and Switzerland.

Ossola

The Ossola (also Valle Ossola or Val d’Ossola) is an area of Italy situated to the north of Lago Maggiore. It lies within the Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola. Its principal river is the Toce, and its most important town Domodossola. It is composed of one main valley (the Ossola proper) and seven side valleys: Anzasca, Antrona, Bognanco, Divedro, Antigorio, Formazza, Isorno and Vigezzo. It also includes parts of the Val Grande National Park, Italy’s largest wilderness area.

Simplon Valley

The Simplon Valley is a valley of the Alps, situated between the Pennine and the Lepontine ranges. The valley is drained by the Diveria or Chrummbach, a tributary of the Toce at Crevoladossola. The Simplon Valley is the only valley of Valais located south of the Alps. The highest mountains in the valley are the Weissmies (4,017 m), the Lagginhorn (4,010 m) and the Fletschhorn (3,993 m), all in the Pennine Alps. On the other side (Lepontine Alps), the highest summit is Monte Leone (3,553 m).

Geisspfadsee

Geisspfadsee is a lake in Valais, Switzerland. Its surface area is 0.18 km². The lake is located in the municipality of Binn, at an elevation of 2439 m. It drains into Züesee (2420 m). The nearby border to Italy can be crossed at two mountain passes: Geisspfadpass and Grampielpass.

Domodossola railway station

Domodossola railway station (Italian: Stazione di Domodossola) serves the city and comune of Domodossola, in the Piedmont region, northwestern Italy. Opened in 1888, it forms a major break of gauge junction between standard gauge lines to Milan, Brig and Novara, and a metre gauge line to Locarno. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni.
