Nuraghe Losa

The Nuraghe Losa is a nuraghe near Abbasanta, in Sardinia, Italy. One of the largest and best preserved nuraghe in the island, it dates to the 15th-13th centuries BC. The bastion and the line of walls date instead to the late 13th-early 12th centuries BC. The nuraghe was used for funerary rites until the 7th century AD.

Lake Omodeo

Lake Omodeo is an artificial lake, in central west Sardinia, Italy. The lake was constructed in the 1920s. The dam, designed by the engineer Angelo Omodeo, was inaugurated in 1924, at that time it was the largest reservoir in Europe. The lake length is 20 km. A new dam was built in 1997, dedicated to the Sardinian medieval judge Eleonor of Arborea, it is 582 m long and 120 m wide.

205 Coastal Division

The 205 Coastal Division was an Infantry Division of the Italian Army during World War II. The division was one of three Coastal Divisions based in Sardinia until the Italian surrender to the Allies in September 1943. Coastal divisions, were second line divisions, usually formed from men in there forties and fifties intended to perform labouring and second lined duties. Recruited locally they were often commanded by officers called out of retirement. Their equipment was also second rate.

San Nicola (Ottana)

San Nicola is a church in Ottana, central Sardinia, Italy. Dedicated to St. Nicholas of Myra, it was consecrated in 1160. It is located on a hill commanding the town and is reached through a staircase. The interior houses a 16th century wooden crucifix and a 14th century polyptych, known as Ottana Altarpiece. It is attributed to a "Master of the Franciscan tempera", active in Naples between 1330 and 1345.
