The Osservatorio Astronomico di Cagliari (Cagliari Observatory, OAC) is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by Italy's Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica (National Institute for Astrophysics, INAF). Nora, Italy

Nora is an ancient Roman and pre-Roman town placed on a peninsula near Pula, near to Cagliari in Sardinia. According to legend, Nora was founded by a group of Iberians from Tartessus led by Norax, a mythological hero son of Eriteide and the god Hermes. It is believed to be the first town founded in Sardinia and to have been settled by the ancient Sherden or the Nuraghi people, and later colonized by Phoenicians.

Poggio dei Pini

Poggio dei Pini, literally “Pine Knoll” is a locality situated in south-west Sardinia, about 15 km from Cagliari, the island’s capital. It is a frazione of the municipality Capoterra. The village, with about 2,000 inhabitants, is of a type unique in Sardinia, and unusual in Italy. It is not an ancient settlement; rather it was founded in the 1960s and 1970s when a group of people who loved nature and the countryside decided to make it their home.

Stagno di Cagliari

The Stagno di Santa Gilla or Stagno di Cagliari (literally ‘Pool of Cagliari’) is a coastal lagoon at the mouths of the rivers Cixerri and Mannu near Cagliari, on the Golfo degli Angeli in southern Sardinia, Italy. It has been designated as a wetland site of international importance under the Ramsar Convention since 1976 and is ranked among the most important of such areas in the European Union.

Golfo degli Angeli

The Golfo degli Angeli (English: Gulf of the Angels), also known as Golfo di Cagliari (English: Gulf of Cagliari) is a large bay in southern Sardinia, Italy, facing the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is enclosed between the Cape Carbonara from east and the Isola dei Cavoli and Capo Spartivento from west. Its coasts are partly sandy and partly rocky, including only a few harbours.
