Mico University College

The Mico University College (The Mico) is an institution of higher education in Kingston, Jamaica. Its mission is "to offer its students opportunities for academic success and professional advancement through a rich and diverse curriculum". The Mico was founded in 1835 through the Lady Mico Charity, one of four teacher training institutions established during this period in the British colonies and the only one to survive until the present.

Wolmer's Schools

Wolmer's Schools, located in Kingston, Jamaica consists of Wolmer's Pre-School, Wolmer's Prep School and two high schools Wolmer's Girls' School and Wolmer's Boys' School. The original school is the second oldest (Combermere in Barbados was established in 1695) English speaking school in the Caribbean. The Wolmer's Schools are considered among Jamaica's most prestigious schools, with a traditional British-style uniforms, a Christian ethos, homework, and a firm disciplinary code.

Up-Park Camp

Up-Park Camp (often Up Park Camp) was the headquarters of the British Army in Jamaica from the late 18th century to independence in 1962. From that date, is has been the headquarters of the Jamaica Defence Force. It is located in the heart of Kingston. The mortality rate of British soldiers in Jamaica was very high, particular as a result of yellow fever. A 156-acre estate known as Up Park Pen was purchased by the War Department in 1784, to set up barracks.

National Heroes Park

National Heroes Park is a botanical garden in Kingston, Jamaica. The largest open space in Kingston at 20 hectares in size, National Heroes Park features numerous monuments, and is the burial site of many of Jamaica's National Heroes, Prime Ministers, and cultural leaders.
