Kanjizai-ji

Kanjizaiji (観自在寺) is a Shingon Buddhist temple in Ainan-cho (愛南町), Minamiuwa District, Ehime, Japan. It is number 40 of the 88 temples in the Shikoku Pilgrimage. Ji (寺) means temple in Japanese. Kanjizai (観自在) is the name of Avalokitesvara (観音, Kannon) which is used in the Heart Sutra (般若心経, Hannya-Shingyo). The history of the temple is said to date to the year 807 when Kūkai visited the town and made 3 venerable statues (尊像, sonzou) in honor of Emperor Heizei.

Ainan, Ehime

Ainan, Ehime is a large town made up of smaller village suburbs in southern Ehime Prefecture, on the island of Shikoku in Japan. On October 1, 2004 all the former towns of Minamiuwa merged to form a larger town, Ainan. Ainan is known for its fishing and agriculture industries which produce a variety of products, including bonito, red snapper, squid, and mikan oranges. In addition, Kanjizaiji is located in Ainan.

Ehime Prefectural Uwajima Fishery High School

Ehime Prefectural Uwajima Fishery High School (愛媛県立宇和島水産高等学校 Ehime Kenritsu Uwajima Suisan Kōtōgakkō) is a secondary school in Uwajima, Ehime Prefecture, Japan. The school first opened in 1945. Since 2005 and as of 2007 the principal is Haruki Tamai (玉井治樹 Tamai Haruki). The school is operated by the Ehime Prefectural Board of Education.

Uwajima Castle

Uwajima Castle is a hirayama-shiro (Japanese castle on a hill on a plain) in Uwajima, Ehime, Japan. An alternate name for this castle is Tsurushima-jō. This castle is well known as one of the twelve Japanese castles to still have an original donjon built in the Edo Period.
