Yamato, Fukushima

Yamato, Fukushima was a town located in Yama District, Fukushima, Japan. On January 4, 2006 Yamato, along with the town of Shiokawa, and the villages of Atsushiokanō and Takasato, all from Yama District, was merged into the city of Kitakata. As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 4,092 and a density of 26.20 persons per square kilometer. The total area was 156.21 km². The town was established as a village in 1875, and promoted to a town in 1954.

Bandai-Asahi National Park

Bandai-Asahi National Park is a national park in the Tohoku region, Honshū, Japan. The park site straddles over Fukushima Prefecture, Yamagata Prefecture, and Niigata Prefecture. The park was designated as a national park on September 5, 1950. The park encompasses 186,404 ha of land (the third largest national park in Japan), consisting of three independent units: the Dewasanzan-asahi Region, Iide Region, and Bandaiazuma-Inawashiro Region.
