Izumo Dome is an indoor sporting arena located in Izumo, Shimane, Japan. The capacity of the arena is 2,500 people and was opened in 1992. It has the distinction of being Japan's largest wooden building at 49 metres high, 143 metres diameter.

Izumo-taisha

is one of the most ancient and important Shinto shrines in Japan. No record gives the date of establishment. Located in Izumo, Shimane Prefecture, it is home to two major festivals. It is dedicated to the god Ōkuninushi (Ōkuninushi-no-mikoto), famous as the Shinto deity of marriage. A style of architecture, taisha-zukuri, takes its name from the main hall of Izumo-taisha. That hall, and the attached buildings, were designated National Treasures of Japan in 1952.

Hikawa, Shimane

Hikawa, Shimane was a town located in Hikawa District, Shimane, Japan. As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 27,246 and a density of 337.87 persons per km². The total area was 80.64 km . A planned merger of municipalities will be implemented on October 1, 2011: Hikawa merged into the city of Izumo. Hikawa District was dissolved as a result of this merger. Izumo Airport is located in the former territory of Hikawa.
