Wakabayashi-ku, Sendai is a ward located in Sendai in Miyagi, Japan. As of 2005, the ward has an estimated population of 130,478 and the population density of 2609.56 persons per km². The total area is 50 km². In the aftermath of 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, the area was severely damaged, especially in Arahama district, where almost all 2,700 houses were destroyed and swept away by tsunamis.

Miyagi Baseball Stadium

The Miyagi Baseball Stadium is a stadium in Sendai, Japan. It is primarily used for baseball as the home field of the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. It opened in 1950. In order to modernize the facility for the Golden Eagles' first season (2005), seating was reduced from approximately 28,600 to about 20,000, as more-spacious seating was installed. For the 2006 season, about 3,000 seats (including private boxes along the first-base side) were added, increasing capacity to about 23,000.
