Ayashi Station

Ayashi Station is a JR East railway station located in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. The kanji characters for Ayashi are the same characters as in the name Aiko given to the daughter of the Crown Prince of Japan. When she was born on December 1, 2001, over a thousand people came to the station to purchase platform tickets as a commemorative souvenir.

Aoba Castle

Aoba Castle, also known as Sendai Castle (仙台城, Sendai-jō), was the castle of the Date family. Built by Date Masamune atop Mount Aoba, it commanded a highly defensible strategic position overlooking the city of Sendai. Although the "castle" was the headquarters of the Date family and administrative center of Mutsu Province, the peace that followed the Battle of Sekigahara (1600) and the beginning of the Tokugawa shogunate, mitigated the dangers of attack.

Sendai Gymnasium

Sendai Gymnasium is an indoor sporting arena located in Sendai, Miyagi, Japan. The capacity of the arena is 7,000. It hosted preliminary round games for the Basketball World Championship 2006, and is also the home arena of the Sendai 89ers of the Japan professional basketball Bj league. The gymnasium is also the site of international volleyball competitions, and in 2006 hosted the opening rounds of the Thomas Cup and Uber Cup international team badminton tournaments.
